Taking care of and living with orphans as well as feeding, clothing, and helping the ‘least of these’ takes many people behind the scenes. We’d like to show you just a few of our volunteers! There are two pages of us, so keep lookin’!

Johnny and Kate Brooks, that’s us, originally from Southeast Texas, moved to Kenya in January of 2005 with our 3 children. Our fourth child was born in Kenya, and we are the founders of A Future and a Hope and Pure Christianity ministries.

We live in and run the orphanage. We also bring food to the hungry, clothe the naked, and aid the sick and dying. We help children (in our home AND outside our home) go to school (however, Kate home-schools Andrew, Makena, Butterfly, & Emma Caite). We help widows and single mothers start small businesses... Check out our blog.

Ben, Pauline, and their daughter Mercy live together with us (Johnny, Kate, our kids, and the orphans). Ben travels scouting for people in need. He is the founder of My Brother’s Keeper ministry. His wife Pauline helps with the girls in the home.

James and Sally Asuma, they have 3 children—

James is the founder of Giving and Rescue Christian Care Interlink. Many desperate, needy people visit his office in town. We share this office now, and it is where we give counsel, aid, and help to as many people as we can. Some of our orphans were found through this ministry. Sally is a teacher and a certified counselor. She counsels the girls (at our home) confidentially and encourages them.
